Overview

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for an engineer to join the Engineering Solutions team supporting the Test Operations and Sustainment contract at Arnold Engineering Development Complex at Arnold AFB, TN. This engineer will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for maintaining and sustaining the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.

Job Summary

The Foreign Technology Group is seeking a highly qualified aerospace or mechanical engineer in the field of aerospace ground test technology. You will work independently to analyze and assess ground test facilities, systems, and subsystems of varying design. Additional responsibilities will include report writing, preparing and briefing presentations to senior leadership, and possible travel to meet with customers.

 

Job Duties:

  • Analyze and assess aerospace ground test techniques and technologies by developing engineering calculations, diagrams, and technical reports.
  • Apply working knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, etc. to solve engineering problems.
  • Pursue identified test facility enhancements and technologies that extend facility capability, reliability, and availability.
  • Synthesize information across multiple intelligence disciplines (GEOINT, SIGINT, MASINT, OSINT) to produce baseline capabilities and predictive threat assessments.
  • Produce intelligence products, such as reports and briefings, to deliver to customers, leadership, and policymakers.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within the specified budget.
  • Potentially travel to meet with customers.
  • It is a condition of employment to wear company issued PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering from an accredited engineering school with 5 years of experience, to include at least 1 year of experience programming in at least one of the following languages: Python, Labview, Matlab/Simulink, or VBA.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret level security clearance and access to the AEDC local area network.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to Air Force security requirements at AEDC.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience and familiarity with analysis techniques related to aircraft, air-breathing engines, thermal protection systems, and rockets.
  • Familiarity with design and analysis of ground test infrastructure such as trans-, super-, and hypersonic wind tunnels, high altitude turbine engine test cells, hypersonic propulsion test cells, arc heated facilities, rocket test cells, and ballistic ranges.
  • Experience and familiarity with aerospace ground test technology including nozzles, diffusers, air ejectors, vacuum systems, industrial combustion processes, heating and cooling systems, arc heaters, cryogenic systems, instrumentation data and control systems.
  • Familiarity with Intelligence Community analytical standards, structured analytic techniques, and target systems analysis.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with a proven track record of writing strategic intelligence assessments.
  • Familiarity with standard analytical tools, GEOINT exploitation software, or data-mining applications
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication, including creating and delivering presentations.
  • Active Department of Defense Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance.

Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations and refers to the amount BNH is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time jobs will be adjusted based upon the number of hours agreed to work at location Tennessee: Arnold Air Force, TN. 

 

L08: $90,500 - $124,500 / year at Arnold Air Force Base, TN.
