Salary Range or Starting Hourly Rate: $120,000 - $165,000/ per year

Overview

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Public Affairs Supervisor supporting TOS II at Arnold AFB, Tennessee. The Public Affairs Supervisor will be a working member of an integrated team responsible for supporting the Air Force Public Affairs program in support of the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment (TOS) efforts.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing written Public Affairs content for publication and ensuring other Public Affairs staff effectively and efficiently develop PA products as outlined and defined in the Public Affairs Statement of Work.

Job Duties:

  • Ensure daily Public Affairs tasks are met by communicating job expectations, planning future products, and monitoring progress.
  • Ensure consistency and compliance with applicable Air Force policies and the TOS Public Affairs Performance Work Statement.
  • Maintain quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards, analyzing and resolving issues, and recommending improvements.
  • Develop ideas for publications, approve stories and graphics approach, manage the activities of the writing staff, and supervise production of content for the publication.
  • Coordinate schedules between production teams such as publications, video, graphics, and outside vendors.
  • Produce news stories and/or press releases – technical, human interest, feature, public service announcements – as required in support of Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) activities, events, or ceremonies, e.g., military promotions, changes of command, and retirements.
    • Follow Associated Press and Air Force style guides.
    • Follow established security clearance and release review processes.
    • Review and edit news stories and/or press releases written by team members.
  • Produce and edit content for other AEDC and Arnold AFB publications, e.g., fact sheets, brochures, and other special publications.
  • Develop, coordinate, and enforce policies, procedures, and productivity standards as required.
  • Ensure adherence to company industrial and office safety practices and standards.
  • Provide constructive and timely input for annual performance evaluations.
  • Assist in the recruitment and training of new Public Affairs staff.
  • It is a condition of employment to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism or English with 10 years of experience or any equivalent combination of education and progressive and relevant experience. Relevant experience must include the following:
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in public affairs, media relations, or communications, including experience managing public relations or media campaigns.
    • Minimum 2 years of experience leading or supervising a team of communications professionals.
    • Experience writing and editing articles or stories under journalistic guidelines in Associated Press and Air Force style.
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in multimedia production (photo/video), public event management, or graphic design.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and access to the AEDC local area network.
  • S. Citizenship is required due to Air Force security requirements at AEDC.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations and refers to the amount BNH is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time jobs will be adjusted based upon the number of hours agreed to work at location Tennessee: Arnold Air Force, TN.
