Overview

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Power System Dispatcher supporting TOS II, at Arnold AFB Tennessee. The selected candidate will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for supporting the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.

 The selected candidate for this requisition must be available to work any shift and shift determination will be made based on the priority of work at the time the selected candidate is cleared to report to work.

 

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing dispatcher support to the electrical distribution systems associated with various facilities at Arnold AFB.  

             

Job Duties:

  • Responsible for operation of electrical distribution system for controlling power dispatched at AEDC according to power agreement with TVA and for supplying power to facilities according to approved schedule
  • Control loads on feeders within specified limitations
  • Directs switching operations at various stations to isolate faulty equipment, maintain or restore service and to provide maintenance and repair
  • Operates central switchboard equipment in emergencies or in the absence of a power switchboard operator
  • Directs patrolling operations in emergencies
  • Keeps log of dispatching operation and other activities during shift
  • Maintains contact with TVA, Operations Center, and facility employees regarding load requirement, lead changes, and emergency conditions
  • Provides clearances and issues hold orders on electrical distribution systems
  • Directs all activities of power switchboard operator during shift
  • Operates Energy Management and Control System (EMCS) console
  • Protects equipment from damage in emergencies
  • Keeps supervisor apprised of unique situations and problems encountered
  • Ensure proper housekeeping practices are observed
  • It is a condition of employment to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy
  • Perform other duties as required

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Six years of progressive experience in electrical power dispatching work or successful completion of an acceptable formal training program or displayed performance in the ability to perform Dispatching
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance and the AEDC local area network
  • Current U. S. Citizenship required

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active secret clearance
  • Valid State Driver’s license
