Salary Range:   $151,000 - $210,000 /year

Job Summary

The successful candidate will function as senior technical advisor for the Modernization Department, collaborating with various support organizations as necessary.

 

It is an important aspect of this role to engage and facilitate engagement with personnel across all mission areas in seeking technical solutions.  The selected candidate will be responsible for representing BNH in discussions with or presentations to clients, management, and senior technical personnel, thus, comfort in verbal presentations and ability to explain highly technical approaches to a broad audience is critical.

             

Job Duties:

  • Provide technical support to all Modernization Capital Projects as needed (including new test facilities)
  • Support capital investment and maintenance projects through engineering reviews and analyses of alternative approaches
  • Provide leadership and technical advice in planning, design, procurement, fabrication, installation, checkout and closeout activities.
  • Conduct reviews of technical work and help develop technical capability and rigor.
  • Promote interaction with asset health assurance branch to advance use of Reliability Centered and Condition Based Maintenance practices
  • Providing technical support to planning, design, fabrication, procurement, installation and check out.
  • Provide strategic and tactical planning, gap identification and solution recommendations to meet current and future test and facility sustainment needs.
  • Exemplify the company core value and covenant of safety in all aspects of job
  • It is a condition of employment to wear company issued PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy
  • Performs other related duties as required

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Engineering from an accredited university and a minimum of 12 years of progressive and relevant engineering experience, or a MS degree in Engineering from an accredited university and a minimum of 10 years of progressive and relevant engineering experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in industrial plant or ground testing operations practices.
  • Must be able to maintain a Department of Defense Secret level security clearance and access to the AEDC local area network
  • Due to Air Force Security requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required for employment at AEDC

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Qualified as test operations engineer in at least one test facility
  • Experience/ Examples in successfully leading special assigned efforts such as mishap investigations, large project design reviews; developed or led teams developing unique operational approaches/ equipment for ground testing; been a member or chaired a technical society or code committee/sub-committee
  • A professional license in an appropriate discipline from a recognized engineering licensing board
  • Ability to relate engineering practice to industrial and regulatory standards and design criteria in engineering or scientific discipline
  • Examples of skill in oral and written communication, particularly in making complex technical issues understandable to an audience that may not have the same level of technical background
