Salary Range or Starting Hourly Rate:  $106,000 - $180,000 / year

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity to contribute to the mission of our Asset Management Department in the role of Engineering Group Manager supporting the Test Operations and Sustainment contract at Arnold Engineering Development Complex at Arnold AFB, TN. The Group Manager will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for maintaining and sustaining the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will report to the Asset Management Director and will provide management and leadership for the system engineers that support facility and utility operations and maintenance within the Asset Management department. Specific duties may include, but are not necessarily limited to the following duties for this area of the TOS II contract: managing engineering workforce, meeting contract deliverables, supporting operations and modernization design efforts, including through-put improvements, interfacing with AF and  DoD leadership, and other duties described below:

 

Job Duties:

  • Responsible for managing / mentoring / overseeing mechanical and electrical systems engineers that support the operations and maintenance of facilities and utilities at AEDC.
  • Forecast engineering staffing requirements, supports hiring activities and provides input for budgetary planning. Provides input to the annual budget cycle.
  • Conducts regular group communication meetings and annual goal setting, performance reviews and career development discussions.
  • Ensures coordination, engagement, and leads team participation with the Asset Management Capital Projects Team and other projects supporting capability and capacity improvements, development and integration.
  • Review and approve asset documentation; risk assessment and hazard analyses, work instructions, and other technical documentation as required.
  • Oversees the change control and configuration management process for associated assets
  • Assigns daily tasks to the engineering staff and engaging in ongoing evaluation of performance to ensure assigned tasks are completed to meet quality and schedule expectations
  • Performs technical and managerial review of asset documentation including Operations and Maintenance (O&M) hazard analyses and work instructions for utility and facility assets.
  • Supports the use of common work processes and procedures to ensure Operations and Maintenance/ Sustainment and Asset Health Assurance (AHA) efforts are consistent with other areas across the TOS II contract.
  • Supports long-term planning goals for facility sustainment and modernization
  • Champions the creation of a work environment which fosters openness, trust, communications, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction
  • It is a condition of employment to wear company issued PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and follow all safety requirements in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy
  • Performs other related duties as required

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Engineering or other technical discipline plus a minimum of 8 years’ progressive and relevant engineering experience; OR a minimum of 15 years’ progressive and relevant experience in engineering or testing environments
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret level security clearance and access to the AEDC local area network
  • Due to Air Force Security requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required for employment at AEDC

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Department of Defense Security Clearance (minimum Secret Clearance classification).
  • Prior experience/familiarity in facility and utility operations and maintenance
  • Ability to work under schedule pressure and manage the team’s workload.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing priorities and adjustments to test & facility conditions and requirements
  • Ability and desire to mentor, develop, and lead diverse talent across disciplines and experience levels
  • Ability to develop and maintain trusted relationships with reports, client, and management
  • Knowledge and demonstrated practice of related safety and security measures and setting a good example for others
  • Experience with Configuration Management systems
  • Advanced certifications (PE, PMP, CMRP, etc.)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Experience leading continual improvement culture
