Overview

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Utility Operator Lead (Cooling Water), supporting TOS II, at Arnold AFB Tennessee. The selected candidate will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for [e.g. operating and maintaining or supporting] the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will perform a variety of manual and technical work as a Utility Operator Lead (Cooling Water) under general supervision.    

Job Duties:

• Performs all duties of a journeyman Utility Operator with additional responsibilities for operations/outages of mechanical utility systems for controlling utilities
• Responsible for operation, coordination, and direction of journeyman and intern operators
• Maintains proper interface with personnel in test and base support ensuring necessary utilities are provided
• Inspects and performs operator/emergency maintenance
• Provide technical assistance and training for other Cooling Water Utility Operator Intern(s) as needed
• Under general instructions from management issues hold orders, work clearances and confined space permits
• Coordinates call in of personnel for overtime assignments, maintains records and logs, and complies monthly reports assigned by management
• Coordinates work with other Utility Operator Leads
• Responsible for ensuring general housekeeping of assigned areas is maintained
• Responsible to immediate supervisor on matter relating to operation and operator maintenance if assigned pumping station, coordination with other station and coordination of pumping operations with test facilities
• Required to wear Company issued Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Perform other related duties as required
• It is a condition of employment to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy
• Perform other duties as required

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Six (6) years of progressive experience in Cooling Water Operations Work
• Must be knowledgeable in the operation and maintenance of cooling water system at AEDC
• Must be willing/able to work first, second, third, to include odd and weekend shifts
• Must be available to work overtime as required
• Must have working knowledge of computers
• Will participate in functional specific safety training and related environmental stewardship programs
• Must be able to read, write and speak English well enough to understand, give and take directions
• Must possess and maintain a valid State driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract
• S. Citizenship

Preferred Qualifications

• Active secret clearance
• Working knowledge of various types of pumps and valves
• Working knowledge pumping station operations and maintenance
