Overview

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Planner/Scheduler, supporting TOS II, at Arnold AFB Tennessee. The selected candidate will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for [e.g. operating and maintaining or supporting] the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will support the efforts of Asset Management (Facilities & Services) as a planner/scheduler.  This candidate will serve as the customer service focal point prioritizing and coordinating maintenance and repair requirement with customers, shop supervisors and government representatives within available budget.  Evaluate job requirements to determine materials, processes, and coordination necessary to safely execute work.  Products would include job estimates and work packages ready for execution. Perform moderately complex assignments that require initiative and independent judgment in the selection and use of established principles and procedures. Support the use of common work processes and procedures within assigned function across the TOS II contract.

        

Job Duties:

  • Build, publish, and status Crew Schedules
  • Perform planning functions for base operation electrical utilities, preventative maintenance, repair, and replacement, of various distribution systems. Scheduling support is required
  • Prepare cost estimates; prepare purchase requisitions and expedite delivery
  • Publish next week’s schedule that depicts craft resources needed by day for assigned crew(s)
  • Coordinate with Work Control Supervisor on schedule priorities for two weeks, including creation of necessary work orders
  • Build the following week’s schedule of craft resources for multiple crews (not by day)
  • Maintain awareness of outages and/or downtimes that may impact scheduled for these two weeks
  • Coordinate with Craft Supervisors/Superintendents on availability of personnel for these two weeks
  • Frequently communicates and coordinates with supervisors and engineering staff regarding planning for upcoming maintenance jobs, gathers appropriate documentation related such as drawings, procedures, checklists that include a safe plan
  • Consults shop personnel to seek advice on unusual circumstances
  • Uses considerable creativity and judgment to devise approaches to accomplish work, resolve design and operational problems, and make decisions in situations when standard engineering methods, procedures & techniques may not be applicable
  • Reviews estimates for compliance with overall project objectives
  • Visit job sites and perform necessary walk-down(s) to identify and document all the necessary details to develop a detailed job plan (this may involve other knowledgeable personnel as needed)
  • Determines available equipment resources are adequate and if not, researches and includes in estimate the item, source of equipment, rental time frame and price
  • Majority of the incumbent’s time will be spent in an office environment; however, it does require periodic trips to the site of work to gather information and specifications from customers and co-workers
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • It is a condition of employment to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Effectively coordinate several projects simultaneously
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Complete all mandated training requirements by government and management directives
  • Timely and cost-effective performance of duties
  • Deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations
  • Adherence to established company operating policies, procedures and accepted industrial practices
  • Ability to work well under pressure

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in facilities, utilities maintenance or planning coordinating discipline or other related equivalent experience
  • Ability to read and understand drawings/schematics
  • 2 years of customer service experience
  • Use of MS Office Tools at a competent level
  • Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract
  • Must meet and maintain security requirements including clearance eligibility
  • Current U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree or (5) years of work coordination, planning, scheduling and estimating
  • Experience with Oracle WAM, (oracle work and asset management)
