Overview
Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Craft Supervisor, supporting TOS II, at Arnold Engineering Development Complex in Tullahoma, Tennessee. The Craft Supervisor will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for [e.g. operating and maintaining or supporting] the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.
Open to internal candidates only. The selected candidate for this requisition must be available to work any shift and shift determination will be made based on the priority of work at the time the selected candidate is cleared to report to work.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and directing multi-discipline craft activities in the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of the Asset Management Directorate which includes Facilities & Services and Utilities.
Job Duties:
- Work with Engineers, Planners and Schedulers to develop work plans and resource requirements, assign work, track work progress to ensure work stays on schedule and within allocated estimates and ensure work executed is preformed per applicable safety, engineering, housekeeping and environmental standards as described in work packages and work instructions, Ensure compliance with AEMTC Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
- Responsible for Building Management – ensures work authorization documents are developed and approved to accomplish work activities such as LOTO, work clearances, hold orders, burn permits & Master Work Permits
- Responsible for crew training and maintaining qualifications of the workforce
- Responsible for wage timecard, vacation and leave program administration
- Responsible for conflict resolution among employees, counseling/disciplining wage personnel for performance issues and non-conformance of Company Policies and Procedures
- Responsible for team safety meetings, monitoring craft housekeeping and safety practices while ensuring the workplace meets AEDC, BHN, & OSHA Standards. Investigates accidents/incidents, completes accident reports and assures proactive steps are taken to prevent similar type accidents/incidents in the future
- Focal point for day-to-day coordination of activities within the assigned area. Works closely with Engineers and other Craft Supervisors to obtain work turnover from shift to shift and to establish the correct Craft manpower needed
- Ensures assigned O&M, Investment work and/or subcontractors’ performance are following specifications, schedules, and budgets.
- Performs general functions inherent in all supervisory positions
- Manages Craft overtime (OT) process and maintains proper OT list differential IAW CBA
- May be assigned to any other work location/schedule/shift in support of multi-shift O&M work
- It is a condition of employment to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
- Perform other duties as required.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with [9] years of progressive in a related field or 14 years commensurate work experience in lieu of degree
- Must be willing to work any shift as needed
- Must demonstrated leadership ability and good communication skills
- Must have the necessary people skills and attitude to fully embrace and support the Companies position on safety
- Must have the ability to plan, organize, lead, and monitor a wide variety of team efforts to their successful conclusion
- Must be able to anticipate change and to adjust promptly and effectively
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and the AEDC local area network.
- Current U. S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Secret clearance
- Thorough knowledge of construction, engineering, procurement, and other project-related activities, including the interfaces and interdependency within the Test Operations Directorate is desirable, but not required.
- Understanding of the AEMTC CBA and Craft jurisdictional lines is desirable
- Demonstrated skills for motivating, communication & directing Union Craft Employes from various Craft lines
